There were far less cases of obesity and other lifestyle disorders during olden times. As we all know these lifestyle disorders are seen almost in every household during current times.
One of the reasons especially in India is polished white rice. Today I am going to tell you 7 super foods which are great alternatives for white rice and these foods are very nutritious and they help you in faster and healthier weight loss

Wild rice –


Even though named as rice, it is a different variety of rice comparing to our normal rice. This contains higher protein content.
It has high fibre content and zero sodium levels which make it very friendly for the heart and people with hyper tension. It is also high in vitamin C which helps in absorbing iron and also has anti aging properties. It is also rich in phosphorus and zinc which helps in maintaining bone density which avoids osteoporosis and also improves immunity. Women are highly prone to osteoporosis after menopause. It regulates digestion and also has ton of anti-oxidants which further help in anti aging. I suggest all the middle aged beauties to shift from white rice to wild rice to stay healthy and young and also people with hyper tension will be highly benefited by this grain.

Red rice –

Red rice is high in vitamin B6 and also contains an active ingredient called monacolin K which reduces high cholesterol level. Red rice contains magnesium and zinc which helps in bone density along with high iron content. It also contains tons of anti oxidants and is rich in fibre content. Red rice is equally good as brown rice and you can consume red or white based on availability.

Brown rice –


Brown rice on the other hand is un polished white rice, brown rice is considered as whole grain because of the outer layer. It is rich in b complex, contains selenium which prevents cancer and also very high in fibre content. If you cannot leave your beloved white rice, shifting to brown rice is the best thing to do.

Broken wheat –


Another great replacement for white rice is broken whole wheat, It plays a wholesome role in your main course. Ragi or finger millet-


Ragi was wildly popular in ancient times. Especially hard working people were eating only ragi instead of rice as that fills them fast, gives all the nutritional benefits and reduces appetite. It is rich in calcium and iron. It is has poly phenols and also high in fibre content which reduces the risk of diabetes. People suffering from diabetes can opt for ragi for maximum benefits.

Barley –


Though Barley in underrated it has multiple nutritional benefits. Just like the above mentioned grains it is rich in vitamin b, selenium, magnesium and manganese. Hence you can mix barley in your diet plan occasionally.

Oats –


Last but not least oats are another important alternative for white rice. These are widely famous and every single person knows their benefits. They are rich phosphorous, manganese, magnesium, folate, vitamin b and copper.

As they all are rich in fibre and low in calories, they keep you full for longer time reduce your appetite and also keep you active for longer time.
